Your coffee is roasted to order
We keep no roasted coffee in stock and roast to order to ensure coffee is as fresh as possible.
We usually roast every 2 weeks at present...we plan to add other roast days as we expand.
ROASTING AGAIN MONDAY 17th DECEMBER...LAST ROAST OF THE YEAR.
ORDERS NEED TO BE IN BY 8.00 AM THAT DAY.
No fossil fuels used in roasting - healthier for people and the environment
Your coffee is roasted with an all electric coffee air roaster.
This means a very controllable roast, less air pollution and less carbon emissions.
By comparison, almost all other commercial roasters in New Zealand use fossil fuels (natural gas or LPG) for roasting.
Roasted with solar and other renewable energy
Our solar panels supply part of our electricity requirements. So if it's shining, some of your coffee will be roasted by the sun.
Also, we're excited to have recently signed up to have P2 Power SolarShare as our electricity provider.
P2 Power is NZ's first peer-to-peer solar power platform.
How does it work?
P2 Power buy solar power from people in the neighbourhood and sell it to the others.
This means some of our electricity is from other people in the neighbourhood when they have too much solar to use themselves and we can sell solar power when we have an excess.
If you're interested, anyone can switch from your current electricity provider to P2 Power and and share the benefits of solar power, even if you’re renting or don’t have panels on your roof.
